Detection and Operational Environment
This level moves from foundational understanding into practical recognition and operational response. It examines how behaviour, terrain, access, movement, communication, proximity, and environmental pressure can influence protective risk. The reader learns how developing threats may become visible through changes in behaviour, repeated access attempts, unusual movement, boundary testing, environmental compression, or the gradual reduction of safe options.
The volumes in this level also explore lawful and defensive action under pressure. They focus on recognising deterioration early, maintaining situational awareness, managing close-contact risk, supporting safe movement, and preserving opportunities for disengagement or extraction. The objective is not to encourage confrontation, but to strengthen judgement, control, coordination, and the ability to act before conditions become unmanageable.
